With Game of Thrones‘ Sansa Stark and X-Adult males‘s Jean Gray,Sophie Turner is acknowledged for playing roles that empower females.

In X-Males sequel Dark Phoenix, she turns that up to 11, as her mutant character from X-Males: Apocalypse results in being even much more highly effective and develops a dangerous change-moi. This marks the first film in the franchise whose main character is a lady. Turner and co-star Jessica Chastain, who plays a shapeshifter who manipulates the Phoenix, talked to E! Information about playing prominent, robust female roles.

“Developing up, I failed to actually really feel like…I’d witnessed a superhero motion picture with a really powerful feminine at the helm,” Turner explained to E! Information. “Now, it truly is so good that young women and younger boys and your daughter can expand up and observe this motion picture and seem at it and say, ‘Oh wow, what a strong, very well-rounded, exact representation of a girl.”

“Also, all ladies are strong and all females are incredible and highly effective,” Chastain said. “It will be wonderful, when we get to the issue too when we make these films, that we never have to say, ‘It’s good to see a potent woman character, properly, it really is just usual.'”

“Yeah,” Turner agreed. “It is just a character.”

Dim Phoenix is the sequel to X-Adult males: Apocalypse and the seventh installment in the X-Men film series.
