Kodak Black is asking for approval from a judge to enter a prison drug rehab program while he is serving his Florida prison sentence.
According to docs that were filed on Monday in federal court, Kodak is asking the court to send him to a prison that offers the Residential Drug Abuse Program, TMZ reports.
The 500-hour drug rehab program, which lasts nine months and would involve group therapy, could possibly shorten Kodak’s 46-month sentence.
But to join, it would require that Kodak live in a separate unit from the general population, which is actually a good thing for celebrities.
Upon completion of the program, inmates can get as much as 12 months knocked off their prison bid.
The judge still has to approve his rehab request.
Even if this helps Kodak, there’s still a possibility that he’ll be doing more time, I mean a lot of it. Last week he was hit two additional federal weapons charges that carry a potential maximum prison sentence of 30 years each.
The Miami Herald reported the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office formally charged Kodak with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
