America’s Most Admired Woman, Former First Lady, and When We All Vote Co-chair Michelle Obama has announced that she is bringing the organization’s first 2020 rally to “The D”. Starting off 2020 with an Oscar nomination and an elementary school being named in her honor, Michelle Obama has no plans of slowing down during this political season.
On March 27, 2020, Michelle Obama is taking over the University of Detroit, Mercy for the first 2020 ‘When We All Vote’ rally. Created to inspire thousands of eligible voters in Michigan and across the country, the ticketed rally in Detroit is open to the public, volunteers, partners, local high schoolers eligible to vote, college students, and educators.
To top it off, two special people will have the opportunity to win a trip to hang with Michelle Obama backstage at the event.
When We All Vote launched by Michelle Obama in 2018 helps increase voting in every election. Co-chairs Tom Hanks, Faith Hill, Janelle Monáe, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Chris Paul joined Mrs. Obama during the 2018 midterm elections.
In 2018, When We All Vote successfully organized over 2,500 local voter registration events across the country, engaged 200 million Americans online about the significance of voting, and texted nearly four million voters the resources to register and get out to vote.
In November 2019, Michelle Obama marked the one year countdown leading up to the 2020 general election with a video announcing seven new members to her Voting Squad. Selena Gomez, Liza Koshy, Shonda Rhimes, Megan Rapinoe, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, and Rita Wilson will join Michelle Obama throughout 2020 as she travels across the country to encourage Americans to get out to vote.
