#Roommates, last year fans were shocked to learn that the brother of hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd shot and killed their stepfather—now more than a year later, he has officially been charged in the case. Michael Sullivan, 20, was formally charged with first-degree murder following an intense investigation from prosecutors in the tragic death of Floyd Sullivan Jr.
According to @TMZ_TV, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi’s half-brother, Michael Sullivan was recently hit with a first-degree murder charge in Lee County, Mississippi, District Attorney John Weddle confirms. The indictment was reportedly decided after a grand jury heard evidence in the case back in January. Michael, who has been in prison since he was arrested early last year, is facing life in prison if convicted.
As we previously reported, Rae Sremmurd’s stepfather, 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan, who helped raised them since they were children, sadly lost his life after a shooting incident in Mississippi, by their half-brother Michael.
Tupelo, Mississippi police officers were dispatched to the home on January 6, 2020 where they found Floyd dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. According to law enforcement sources at the time, Michael was being held for psychiatric evaluation at a local facility before he was ultimately arrested for the murder.
Michael’s mother, Bernadette Walker, previously told media outlets that she believed her son was off his medication for his alleged Schizoaffective medical disorder.
Neither member of Rae Sremmurd has spoken out publicly regarding the news of the first-degree murder charge.
